The 55th Annual Flickertail Woodcarvers Show was held October 11-12 at the Bismarck Public Schools Career Academy, with special classes held on the days just prior.
Izo Becic Acanthus Clock class: The class met 2 days prior to the show, and the two mornings of the show. Izo is a European trained Master Carver who moved to the US in the 1990s. He has taught this style to hundreds of students around the country. This class used long handle tools and mallets, so no potato peelers.
Photorealistic Colored Pencils class: Unfortunately cancelled.
Bob Lawrence Rolling Bison class: Carvers were invited to a fun little class for all NDSU Football Fans (and all non-football fans!) Bob helped create the perfect somersaulting bison. This project is guaranteed to create smiles all around, with just a nudge causing the bison to roll head over heels.
